The Business Faculty has had a name change and is now called The Faculty of Business and Law because we now have: “Bachelor of Laws” commencing in the first semester of 2009.

The decision to move into law follows a four year development process with an experienced team of law professionals and extensive consultation with the legal profession, industry and government departments.

The introduction of a law degree is in keeping with AUT’s responsiveness to the needs of professions and industry. This degree also offers a strong complement to the well-respected business programmes offered by AUT.

The degree has been approved by the New Zealand Council of Legal Education (CLE), as meeting its educational requirements for a degree leading to admission as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.

The degree has also been approved by the New Zealand Vice Chancellors’ Committee on University Academic Programmes (CUAP) as meeting the necessary academic standards for a degree programme in a New Zealand university.
